Shopping in Maroochydore
Bursting with bargains, a shopping bonanza
from bazaars to boutiques!
Maroochydore is the hub of the universe for shopaholics as far as the Sunshine Coast is
concerned. Well known for its amazing shopping precinct, Sunshine Plaza Maroochydore is the
shopping mecca of the Sunny Coast; shoppers flock from Noosa, Caloundra & the Hinterland when they are in need
of some serious retail therapy.
The Plaza, as the locals call it, has become the central meeting place & a village in
itself, where families & friends gather to catch up over lunch or a coffee, enjoy a movie or just shop
& browse the day away. Although you’ll love Myer, Target, KMart & hundreds of specialty stores to explore,
the best part about Maroochydore is that The Plaza is not all there is on offer — in fact, far from it! Here you're
only scratching the shiny surface…
Take a look around. There are many other retail shopping centres, great op shops & other
discounters offering up a veritable bargain hunter’s paradise as well as professional & trade precincts dotted
throughout Maroochydore. In fact, pretty much every type of independent retailer, franchise, shop or service you’d
expect in a capital city, you’ll find here in this vibrant, yet highly versatile regional centre. Maroochydore
really gives you what you’d expect plus more.
More Choice. More Service. More Value.

In Maroochydore not only will you find an abundance of retailers offering everything from
surfwear to funky homewares, decadent jewellery to gifts of exotic artistry, boutiques with a passion for designer
label fashion, sassy shoes, luxury lingerie & must-have handbags & accessories, plus menswear, bridal wear,
sunglasses, luggage—no matter what you desire, you’ll find it all here in one spot—Maroochydore. And it’s not just
retail.
Interspersed amongst the quirky little collector’s shops, deli’s &
gourmet eateries there’s plenty of quality personal & essential services catered for such as hairdressing
salons, nail studios, beauty therapists, day spas, tanning studios, florists, confectionery, bakeries,
newsagents, supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, solicitors, accountants, travel agents, post offices, convenience
stores, car dealerships, office stationery, musical instruments, adult stores, retail warehouses, direct
factory outlets, furniture, hardware & much, much more.
Maroochydore is also a major hub for Sunshine Coast health & medical services, Government
agencies, employment services, real estate agencies, insurance offices & other professionals. So if you are in
need of an after hours pharmacy or a doctor while you’re on the coastal strip, you will probably be directed to
Maroochydore.
In Maroochydore everything you require is at your fingertips & if you are
looking for a massive shopping experience, by all means enjoy the pleasures of the Sunshine Plaza Shopping
Complex or catch the latest movies on the 12 big screens at the Birch Carroll & Coyle Event Cinema
Multiplex.
But don’t forget the joy of coming across that special little one-off shop that simply rocks
your world; you know the one we’re talking about — the awesome, eclectic vintage collectables shop, the must-have
car collectables shop or the ultra cool collectable record store — all of which happen to be neatly tucked away in
the old Big Top Shopping Centre (hiding in plain sight, behind M1 Resort), right across
the road from the Sunshine Plaza! Seek them out.
Take your time to savour the unusual, the unique & those hard to find treasures
that will bring a smile to your face. Absolute gems. Only a Sunshine Coast local like us would know to mention
them. We love their passion for everything so seriously retro!
On the weekends, don’t forget the great range of street markets across the Sunshine Coast where
you’ll find eclectic shopping treasures, fresh produce & bags of bargains. The closest market is
Fishermans Street Market at Lions Park, cnr of Fishermans Road & Bradman Ave, Maroochydore.
You'll find it just opposite the Maroochy Sports Grounds, next to the Maroochy River on the banks of Eudlo Creek,
every Sunday morning. Also check out Cotton Tree Market as they close the main street for their
Sunday morning market so you can enjoy a lazy morning browsing here, then a few steps away choose a cafe & have
brunch or lunch before you head back to the beach!
Another perfect way to spend a day on the Sunshine Coast…
